What grades are at Notre Dame Elementary School?

Students range from Pre-K to Grade 6, including a Two-Year Pre-K/Kindergarten Montessori Program. 

What is the daily schedule at Notre Dame?

School starts promptly at 8:05 am and dismissal is at 2:15 pm. 

Do you have to be of the Catholic faith to attend Notre Dame?

Notre Dame welcomes students of all faiths.  In fact, approximately 23% of our system-wide students    practice a faith other than Catholicism, giving Notre Dame students the opportunity to celebrate individual differences as well as giving them a valuable resource to learn about others.

Does Notre Dame offer an after-school care program?

Extended care is offered to Notre Dame Elementary parents who need afterschool care for their children in grades Kindergarten—6th.  The Program is designed to provide quality care by competent personnel, in a relaxed and caring atmosphere.  The service is offered Mondays—Fridays, from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.   There  is  a $10 registration fee for all students, and once registered, families can use the service hourly, daily, or weekly.  Rates, which are subject to change, are $6 per hour for the 1st child,  $3 per hour for each additional child, or $70 per child per week (when paid in advance) for full time use.

Will my children have regularly scheduled art, music, and other fine arts classes?

Notre Dame Elementary’s academic program includes daily language arts, religion, math, science, social studies, as well as music, physical education, computer, and art classes.

 

What sports are offered to Notre Dame Elementary students?

Notre Dame sports include Soccer and Basketball clinics.

 

Is there a specific time when interested students and their families can visit Notre Dame?

Open House is scheduled in January, but a personal guided tour can be scheduled at your convenience by calling the school’s office at (570) 421-3651.  Shadowing opportunities are also available.

 

Is tuition assistance available?

Tuition assistance is available through the Diocese of Scranton’s Scholarship Foundation funded through the EITC Tax Credit Program. Applications are available in the school office.  Notre Dame also participates in a gift card program called Scrip.  Families receive a portion of the face value of various gift cards as a tuition credit.  The amount of the credit varies depending on the retailer or restaurant offering the gift card.

Are there tuition payment plans available?

Tuition is paid to the FACTS tuition management company. Options are available for 1 payment, 2 payments,10 monthly payments, or 12 monthly payments.

 

Is there an on-line parent /school communication source available?

Notre  Dame  Elementary School offers  FACTS SIS,  a  tool  for  parents  to  access  and  share critical school information, including each student’s grades for every class, which are updated regularly.
